An F-16 fighter jet intercepted an aircraft over US President Donald Trump’s country residence in Maryland, The New York Post reports, citing the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).

NORAD said the incident occurred over the city of Thurmont at 7:50 a.m. The Air Force safely escorted the aircraft out of the restricted airspace and urged pilots to check the latest information on airspace restrictions before takeoff.

The newspaper noted that the president had arrived at his residence the previous day and planned to spend the weekend there.
