Azerbaijan places a strong emphasis on protecting, repairing and restoring religious, historical and architectural monuments, Gunduz Ismayilov, deputy chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organisations, said.

Speaking to journalists, Ismayilov said hundreds of such monuments in Azerbaijan have their own religious communities, which he said are actively working, Caliber.Az reports.

“Among them are mosques, churches and synagogues. The state pays great attention to their protection, repair and restoration. Each of these buildings has its own history, and they are precious to believers,” Ismayilov said.
