BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 17. Uzbekistan’s
Namangan region is exploring major road construction and transport
infrastructure projects with China’s Shanghai Construction Group
(SCG).


This was stated in a statement issued by the administration of
Uzbekistan’s Namangan region following a meeting between Governor
Shavkatjon Abdurazzoqov and Lu Weisi, Deputy General Manager for
Central Asia at Shanghai Construction Group.


According to the information, the sides exchanged views on
opportunities to modernize Namangan’s road and transport
infrastructure, including the construction and reconstruction of
highways and the implementation of large-scale road projects using
modern approaches and technologies.


The discussions also covered the potential use of international
experience and advanced technologies in road construction,
according to the regional administration.


“Modernizing transport infrastructure and improving the quality
and capacity of roads are important for strengthening Namangan’s
investment attractiveness and creating conditions for further
economic development,” the regional administration said.


The parties also considered opportunities for Shanghai
Construction Group to participate in prospective infrastructure
projects in the region.







Improved road connectivity could support the movement of goods
and people while strengthening links between Namangan and other
parts of Uzbekistan and the wider region. The development of
transport infrastructure is also expected to support the region’s
broader investment and construction agenda.


Shanghai Construction Group is an international construction
company with experience in construction, engineering,
infrastructure and urban development projects.


The meeting is part of Namangan’s efforts to establish direct
cooperation with international construction and infrastructure
companies and attract foreign technologies and expertise to
regional development projects.


Further discussions are expected to focus on turning the
identified opportunities into practical investment and
infrastructure.
