Former Georgian Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in a corruption case, the portal kvirispalitra.ge reports.


“According to the verdict, Juansher Burchuladze was sentenced to ten years of imprisonment, and his property — a land plot in Spain and a house on the plot, as well as a house and parking space in the Tskneti district of Tbilisi — has been confiscated,” the publication said.


His deputy Giorgi Khaindrava and his brother-in-law Vasil Mkheidze were also sentenced to prison terms.


Burchuladze served as Georgia’s Defence Minister from February 22, 2021, to February 8, 2024.
