Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry has expressed condolences to Pakistan following the loss of life in a terrorist attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to a post published on the ministry’s X account.
“We strongly condemn the terrorist attack targeting the mosque and police compound in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Government and brotherly people of Pakistan, as well as to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.
Azerbaijan stands in solidarity with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism in all its forms,” the ministry said.
The statement followed a deadly assault in Kohat, where a suicide car bombing at a mosque inside a police compound was followed by an attack by armed militants. At least 31 people were killed and more than 100 others injured, with police personnel and their families among those gathered at the compound for Friday prayers. The incident came amid a broader surge in militant violence across northwestern Pakistan.
