Iranian hacker group Handala has claimed responsibility for a large-scale cyberattack targeting the mobile phones of hundreds of people linked to Israeli security agencies.
The group said photographs of approximately 700 people it allegedly compromised using a tool known as Naem had been published on its website.
Handala also claimed that the United States, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands had previously issued a joint warning about the threat posed by the tool, while Israel had spoken out against that statement.
"Handala challenges Israeli authorities to disclose which security institutions and individuals were targeted, declaring that this operation represents only a small example of its covert cyber activities," the group added.
