Poland has activated military aviation operations in its airspace as Russia carries out attacks on Ukraine involving strike drones, the Polish Armed Forces' Operational Command said.
The measures were introduced on September 19, in line with existing procedures, the command said.
Ground-based air-defence systems and radar reconnaissance units were placed on alert, while the necessary forces and assets were activated.
The Polish military said the measures were preventive and aimed at protecting the country's airspace, particularly in areas bordering zones under threat.
The Operational Command said it was monitoring the situation and that forces under its command remained ready to respond immediately.
