A transformer substation in Rostov-on-Don was damaged after debris from a drone fell on the facility during a reported overnight attack, disrupting electricity supplies in four districts of the city.
The damage temporarily left residents in parts of the Voroshilovsky, Leninsky, Oktyabrsky and Kirovsky districts without electricity, according to regional authorities. Information on the full extent of the damage and the timeframe for restoring power was still being clarified.
The overnight attack also caused other damage in the city. According to Rostov Region Governor Yury Slyusar, debris damaged windows, roofing and glazing at six private homes, as well as outbuildings. Emergency services were working at several locations, while authorities said no deaths or injuries had been reported.
More than 50 drones were reportedly destroyed overnight over Rostov-on-Don, Bataysk, Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Taganrog and 10 districts of the Rostov region, according to Slyusar.
Meanwhile, an OSINT analysis by ASTRA reported that a fire had broken out, apparently at a section of a military airfield in Rostov-on-Don where aircraft are stationed. The report described the location of the fire as an assessment based on available imagery rather than an officially confirmed strike on the airfield.
