The Russian Soobrazitelny corvette fired two red signal flares toward a Danish Air Force helicopter in the Baltic Sea, Russia’s Defence Ministry said, describing the move as an effort to prevent a possible provocation.
According to the ministry, the corvette was carrying out a mission in international waters when it detected the Danish helicopter approaching the vessel.
“The Soobrazitelny was carrying out missions in the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea and detected a Danish Air Force helicopter approaching,” the ministry said.
