A group of servicemen from the Azerbaijan Army has departed for Türkiye to participate in the next phase of the “EFES-2026” multinational military exercise, currently being held in the cities of İstanbul and İzmir.


The Azerbaijani contingent will take part in live-fire practical training as part of the drills. Upon arrival, the servicemen were welcomed at Türkiye’s Çiğli Air Base, marking the beginning of their involvement in the exercise, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry.


The “EFES-2026” exercise brings together military personnel from multiple countries and focuses on enhancing interoperability during large-scale operations. The drills are designed to strengthen coordination among participating units, improve combat readiness, and develop practical military skills in realistic scenarios.
