A Swedish reconnaissance aircraft, the Saab 340B ISR, has flown along Russia’s northern border from the Gulf of Finland area northwards.
The aircraft took off from a base near the Finnish city of Tampere before heading toward the Gulf of Finland and then continuing its flight along Russia’s international boundary, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The Saab 340B ISR is capable of conducting radar and radio intelligence missions at ranges of up to 300–400 kilometres at an operational altitude of around 6,000 metres.
Several days earlier, another Swedish aircraft, the S102B Korpen, was also reported to have flown near the Russian border over the Baltic Sea area.
