The Iranian Navy said in a post on X that it had sunk a U.S. vessel that allegedly approached the port of Bandar Abbas, a key strategic hub on Iran’s southern coast.

The navy said the strike was in response to remarks by US President Donald Trump, who stated that Iran’s naval power had been “completely destroyed,” Caliber.Az reports.

Bandar Abbas, located along the Strait of Hormuz, is a critical maritime chokepoint through which a significant share of global energy supplies passes.
