Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, stated that the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran in Islamabad was not signed due to the actions of the American side.
“[...] when just inches away from ‘Islamabad MoU’, we encountered maximalism, shifting goalposts, and blockade [from the American counterparts],” Araghchi wrote on his page on X.
According to the foreign minister, Iran conducted the negotiations in good faith and sent to Islamabad representatives of the highest level in the past 47 years.
