The results of Russia’s Single Voting Day confirmed citizens’ support for the course pursued by President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has said.
Speaking at a meeting with deputy prime ministers, he stated that gubernatorial and regional head elections were also held in several regions, while the composition of legislative assemblies and local government bodies was renewed, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The vote was an important stage and once again demonstrated citizens’ support for the president’s course, according to him.
Elections to the ninth State Duma and concurrent electoral campaigns began on September 18 and continued for three days, until September 20.
Around 20,700 parliamentary seats and elected positions were scheduled to be filled as part of Russia’s 2026 Single Voting Day.
Putin had previously described the State Duma elections as one of the country’s most important domestic political events.
