US President Donald Trump has said “we’ll see” when asked whether he would take further military action against Iran, as he considers whether to “annihilate” the country.
Speaking in an exclusive phone interview with NewsNation, Trump said Iran currently wanted to reach a deal with the US.
“Right now, they want to make a deal,” he said, adding that he believed Iran was “losing in every way” financially and militarily.
“If the deal’s not a correct deal, then I wouldn’t even think about it,” Trump said.
His comments come as the US-Iran war enters its seventh month.
Trump has said he hopes the conflict is nearing an end, while warning that he is approaching a major decision on whether to launch another significant attack against Iran.
Hundreds of thousands of Iranians rallied on September 18 in a government-organised show of defiance after months of war.
The demonstrators pledged their readiness to take up arms in the biggest such demonstration since the US and Israel attacked in February.
