Georgia has officially been selected as the host country for the United Nations World Tourism Organization’s Innovation Forum in 2027.
According to Georgian media reports cited by Caliber.Az, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, announced the decision.
The agreement was reached in Kutaisi during her meeting with UN World Tourism Organisation Secretary-General Shaikha Nasser Al-Nuwais. The forum will be held at the Kutaisi Technology Hub under the auspices of the organisation.
“This will be a very important initiative and a significant international event for our country, which will help raise the profile of tourism, stimulate ongoing technological development and the innovation sector in Georgia, and also help local startups establish contacts with international companies,” Kvrivishvili said.
According to the minister, hosting the event will also give Georgia an opportunity to welcome international companies, marking another form of international recognition for the country.
