Baku has become one of the key centres of cooperation linking different regions of the Turkic world, Muhammet Alper Hayali, deputy secretary-general of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), said.
Speaking at an event marking the 30th anniversary of the Chamber of Auditors of Azerbaijan, Hayali highlighted the significance of locating the centre of the Union of Professional Accounting and Auditing Regulatory Bodies of the Turkic States in Baku.
He said the establishment of the union would complement growing institutional cooperation and economic integration among Turkic states.
“Political will alone is not enough to develop economic ties, increase trade and facilitate investment. Reliable, transparent and compatible institutional systems are necessary,” Hayali said.
