Structure proposed within OTS for joint use of energy potential

A separate institutional structure within the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) has been proposed to facilitate the joint utilisation of the energy potential of member states.

Ibrahim Mammadov, Head of the Turkic-Western Cooperation Initiative (TWEI) at Hungary's Danube Institute, said there was a need for such a dedicated agency or institutional structure for efficiently using energy resources, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

Speaking at the 2nd International Conference of Leading National Think Tanks of the OTS Mammadov outlined that as artificial intelligence technologies and digitalisation processes are developing rapidly, demand for energy on a large scale will emerge.

“We are all countries with rich energy resources. So why not act together in this area? All decisions depend on us ourselves. I would even say that integrating our systems is a strategic necessity for all our countries," Mammadov noted.
