BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. TechnipFMC has
secured an integrated Engineering, Procurement, Construction and
Installation (iEPCI®) contract from PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. for
the Limbayong deepwater project offshore Malaysia, the company
said.


The contract was awarded to TechnipFMC subsidiary FMC Wellhead
Equipment Sdn. Bhd. and covers the subsea scope of the greenfield
development.


The project will use TechnipFMC’s Subsea 2.0® configure-to-order
(CTO) platform alongside its iEPCI® approach, which integrates the
engineering, procurement, construction and installation phases.
According to the company, the combination is expected to shorten
project cycle times and support the fast-track development of the
field.

Located around 120 kilometers offshore Sabah in water depths of
approximately 900 to 1,200 meters, the Limbayong field is
considered one of Malaysia’s more technically complex offshore
developments.


Discovered in 2002, the field is estimated to contain about 139
million barrels of recoverable oil and 784 billion cubic feet of
non-associated natural gas. The project is viewed as a strategic
development aimed at establishing a deepwater hub for East
Malaysia, particularly Sabah.


Earlier milestones included the award of a major Engineering,
Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning (EPCIC)
contract to TechnipFMC for the field’s subsea production system.
The scope included the design and installation of key subsea
equipment, including subsea trees, manifolds, flexible risers and
related infrastructure required for the deepwater development.
