BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. President of
Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov proposed establishing a joint investment
fund to finance priority projects as part of cooperation between
Central Asia and the Republic of Korea.
According to the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan,
the proposal was made on September 16 during the first Central
Asia–Republic of Korea Summit in Seoul.
"In the economic sphere, he proposed establishing a Council of
State Investment Institutions within the existing Consultative
Mechanism of Industry Ministers, creating a unified portfolio of
important projects, and establishing a joint investment fund to
finance priority initiatives, localize production, and facilitate
the entry of Korean businesses into Central Asian markets," the
statement said.
Sadyr Japarov noted that the fund could be used to finance
priority initiatives, support production localization, and
facilitate the entry of Korean businesses into the markets of
Central Asian countries.
The President also proposed establishing a Council of State
Investment Institutions within the existing Consultative Mechanism
of Industry Ministers and creating a unified portfolio of key
projects.
Furthermore, Sadyr Japarov emphasized the need to translate the
high level of political trust between Central Asia and South Korea
into long-term economic and technological partnership.
