Russia’s Defence Ministry said its air defence forces intercepted and destroyed 222 Ukrainian drones overnight on September 15, as Moscow reported a large-scale wave of drone attacks across several regions.
According to the ministry, the drones were shot down over the Oryol, Belgorod, Voronezh, Tula, Tambov, Bryansk, Rostov, Kursk, Lipetsk, Ryazan, Saratov, Samara, Kaluga and Ulyanovsk regions, as well as over Tatarstan, Crimea and the Black Sea, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The ministry did not provide details on potential casualties or damage from the reported attacks.
The claims come a day after Russia’s Defence Ministry said it had destroyed 1,025 Ukrainian drones over a 24-hour period. It also said its forces had intercepted four guided aerial bombs, four U.S.-made HIMARS rockets and two Neptune long-range missiles during the same period.
