The United States has weapons in orbit to control outer space, capable of protecting the combined armed forces from hostile actions by adversaries, Troy Meink, US Secretary of the Air Force, has stated.
Speaking at an Air and Space Forces Association conference near Washington, he declined to disclose details of the systems; however, he confirmed that Washington had taken measures to maintain its superiority, Caliber.Az reports.
“It is critically important that we maintain our dominance, not only in the air but in space,” he said. “So, we’ve had to take steps to make sure that when we’re threatened, we can take care of that.”
According to him, many countries are developing capabilities aimed at depriving the United States of these capabilities, and the ability to rely on this space capability is very important.
