Azerbaijan and Türkiye have discussed prospects for further strengthening cooperation in the media and communications sector.
The discussions took place during a meeting with a Turkish delegation led by Ferhat Pirinççi, Deputy Head of Communications at the Presidency's Directorate of Communications of Türkiye, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Media and Broadcasting Council.
Council Chairman Ahmad Ismayilov highlighted the importance of the strong cooperation ties between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in media and communications. The sides stressed the need to expand the exchange of experience in the evolving information environment and step up joint efforts to combat disinformation.
Pirinçci, in turn, highlighted new opportunities emerging from the digital transformation of the media and communications sector. The participants emphasised the effective use of new media tools, the development of modern communication approaches, and the expansion of professional contacts and joint initiatives between the two countries’ media representatives.
The meeting also featured an exchange of views on opportunities for coordinated responses to contemporary information challenges, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
