Ukrainian authorities will extradite a man suspected of fraud to Azerbaijan after detaining him during an international search operation, Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General's Office said on July 30.
According to local media, Investigators from the Investigation Department of the Surakhani District Police Office in Baku charged Aliaga Ismayilov in a criminal case, the prosecutor's office said.
After Ismayilov fled the investigation, a court ordered his pre-trial detention and authorities placed him on the international wanted list.
Law enforcement officers in Ukraine detained him during coordinated international search operations. Azerbaijan's Ministry of Justice Penitentiary Service is now completing the formalities to transfer him to Azerbaijan.
The Prosecutor General's Office said the case marks the seventh extradition to Azerbaijan over the past year involving a suspect detained in Ukraine.
