BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 4. The implementation of
the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) is
becoming a central element of the Armenia–Azerbaijan normalization
process, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the 8th
Summit of the European Political Community, Trend reports.

Pashinyan stressed that the EPC format has played a crucial role
in shaping the peace agenda between the two countries.

He recalled that in 2022, on the sidelines of the first EPC
summit in Prague, a quadrilateral meeting was held with the
initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron.

“At that meeting, Armenia and Azerbaijan recognized each other's
territorial integrity and sovereignty based on the Almaty
Declaration. This created a realistic pathway toward a peace
agreement and outlined the architecture of future peace,” he
said.

According to the prime minister, the process later culminated in
the Washington peace summit held last August at the White House
with the participation of U.S. President Donald Trump.

“At the White House, together with President Ilham Aliyev, we
adopted a peace declaration, which was also signed by the U.S.
President as a witness. In the presence of the three leaders, the
foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan initialed an agreement
on the establishment of peace and interstate relations,” Pashinyan
noted.

He emphasized that the next phase of the process is closely
linked to TRIPP.

“We are now moving toward the implementation of the Trump Route
for International Peace and Prosperity. This project will
contribute to sustainable peace by unblocking regional
communications and creating new international transport corridors
from East to West and from South to North,” he said.

Pashinyan underlined that TRIPP is expected to significantly
strengthen global supply chains and enhance regional connectivity,
making it not only a political but also an economic pillar of the
peace process.

Highlighting the current situation, the Armenian prime minister
pointed out that the region is experiencing an unprecedented period
of stability.

“For already two years, there have been no casualties as a
result of shootings between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This is
unprecedented since our independence,” he said.

He added that both countries are working to institutionalize
peace and deepen cooperation, including through continued
engagement within the EPC framework.

Pashinyan also noted that Armenia and Azerbaijan are mutually
supporting each other’s candidacies to host future EPC summits and
expressed hope for reciprocal visits in the coming years.
