Two earthquakes struck the Battalgazi district in Türkiye’s Malatya province within minutes of each other, according to the country’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).


The first quake, with a magnitude of 3.9, occurred at 15:41. Its depth was recorded at 13.27 km.


Just one minute later, at 15:42, a second earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4 hit the same area. The seismic event had a depth of 16.36 km.
