Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on April 6 that Israeli forces killed Asghar Bakri, commander of Unit 840 of Iran’s Quds Force, during an overnight operation.
In a post on X, Netanyahu stated: “We eliminated Asghar Bakri, commander of Unit 840 of the Quds Force, who was responsible for attacks against Jews and Israelis worldwide. Those who kill our citizens, those who spread terror against the State of Israel, those who build the Iranian axis of evil—their blood is on their own heads. We act decisively and firmly—we will reach anyone who tries to harm us. We will continue to fight with full force on all fronts until the threat is eliminated and all military objectives are achieved.”
He also confirmed the death of Majid Khademi, head of intelligence of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), describing him as a senior official who had recently assumed the position following the killing of his predecessor.
