United Russia leads Russian State Duma vote with 57.86%

Russia’s ruling United Russia party has secured 57.86% of the vote in the State Duma elections, according to preliminary results from the Central Election Commission after 90.43% of polling station protocols had been processed.

The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) was in second place with 13.84%, followed by the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) with 8.9% and New People with 7.94%, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.

The Fair Russia party had received 4.95%, just below the 5% threshold required to win seats through the federal electoral district.

The results remain preliminary as vote counting continues.
