Ukraine is set to receive up to $500 million worth of oil products under a new agreement between Ukrainian oil producer Ukrnafta and Polish energy group Orlen, TASS reports.
The companies signed a memorandum covering supplies to the Ukrainian market, according to the press service of Naftogaz, which owns Ukrnafta.
The agreement is intended to strengthen fuel supply stability amid what Naftogaz described as a global oil crisis linked to events in the Middle East.
The memorandum also provides for exploring the possibility of sending Ukrainian crude oil to refineries in Central Europe for processing. It also includes the potential transfer of used fuel tankers to Ukrnafta to transport oil products.
Separately, Naftogaz and Orlen signed a memorandum covering the delivery of three consignments of liquefied natural gas to Ukraine in the first quarter of 2027. The volume of the planned deliveries was not disclosed.
