An unidentified drone has been spotted near the home of Danish Defence Minister Jeppe Bruus, Danish broadcaster TV 2 reports.
A large-scale operation involving police and military personnel is currently underway in the area, with troops specializing in explosive ordnance disposal among those deployed at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the drone sighting remain unclear. Denmark’s Defence Ministry has not yet commented on the incident.
EU Commission President von der Leyen has warned that Europe must dramatically strengthen its defences against drones and cyber threats from Russia, as concerns over hybrid attacks grow.
