Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has compared accusations against Moscow over events in Ukraine to “crowing,” arguing that the West seeks to create an impact through the force and volume of its allegations.
“This is a feature of the legal warfare invented by the Anglo-Saxons. The effect, as they see it, is achieved through the loudness of the accusations. They need to crow first, and they are already little concerned about whether morning will come,” Lavrov said, according to RIA Novosti.
Lavrov said what he described as the West’s legal aggression against Russia had a long history and had been conducted systematically since 2014.
According to the Russian foreign minister, the claims brought against Moscow were deliberately made in bad faith, a fact he said was understood both by Kyiv and “its masters.”
In some cases, Lavrov added, the claims were entirely “unrelated to the subject matter of the respective conventions.”
