BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 15. Azerbaijan and
Türkiye are successfully implementing a roadmap covering 110
measures, steps and projects in the economic sphere alone,
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said, Trend's correspondent reports
from the event.
Bayramov made the remarks while answering journalists’ questions
at a joint press conference with Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan
Fidan in Baku.
The minister said the declaration covering Azerbaijan-Türkiye
relations encompasses all areas.
According to him, the two countries cooperate in various areas,
including the economy, investment, trade, defense, security,
humanitarian affairs, cooperation in international organizations,
joint activities in third countries, and large-scale regional
infrastructure projects.
Bayramov noted that a number of priority areas, including new
areas of cooperation in alternative energy, were discussed during
today’s talks.
“Overall, there is cooperation in every area, and the
foundations are very broad. However, life goes on, and new
realities create new opportunities, while new opportunities require
new approaches,” the minister emphasized.
He said Azerbaijan and Türkiye regularly identify new
opportunities and work in this direction.
According to Bayramov, a 110-point roadmap covering the economic
sphere alone was adopted following a meeting of the
Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the
two countries in December 2025.
“This roadmap is not designed for decades; it is intended for a
shorter period. In other words, there are 110 measures, steps and
projects identified by the commission solely in the economic
sphere, and these are being successfully implemented between the
two countries,” he said.
The minister emphasized that Azerbaijan-Türkiye cooperation is
not limited to diplomatic and political spheres. He also noted
cooperation involving the two countries with regional states in
trilateral and quadrilateral formats.
Bayramov said that in recent years, particularly following
Azerbaijan’s four-year chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement,
the country has identified relations with African countries as one
of its priority areas.
According to him, the number of trade and economic missions to
Africa and the number of projects being implemented are increasing,
while significant potential exists in this area.
The minister noted that Türkiye is one of the countries with a
major diplomatic and economic presence in Africa.
“One of the areas of our joint work is the implementation of
joint projects involving Azerbaijan, Türkiye and one or another
African country,” Bayramov said.
He also cited the events held last week to mark the 15th
anniversary of the Azerbaijan International Development Agency
(AIDA) as an example.
Bayramov said that within the conference organized in this
regard, joint activities between AIDA and the Turkish Cooperation
and Coordination Agency (TİKA), cooperation between the two
countries, and the implementation of joint projects in the field of
international assistance were identified as a new area of
Azerbaijan-Türkiye cooperation.
The minister noted that listing all areas of Azerbaijan-Türkiye
cooperation could require a separate large-scale event, or even one
lasting several days.
“All these formats that we have mentioned are aimed precisely at
further strengthening coordination and making it more
results-oriented,” he emphasized.
Bayramov said he believes Fidan’s visit to Azerbaijan today also
serves to further develop this cooperation and strengthen
coordination.
