BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 15. Turkmenistan's
Amatly çözgüt and South Korea's S&T System Inc. have signed an
agreement in Seoul to establish the Yerli Tor joint venture for IT
equipment production.
The agreement was signed as part of efforts to strengthen
bilateral technological partnership, according to the press service
of the Turkmen government.
The new enterprise will focus on producing servers, data storage
systems and network equipment for government institutions,
corporate clients, data centers and critical infrastructure
facilities in Turkmenistan.
Under the agreement, S&T System Inc. will provide technology
transfer, technical solutions and expert support, while the Turkmen
side will adapt products to local standards, develop infrastructure
and deploy solutions on the domestic market.
According to the report, the production process will cover
equipment assembly, configuration, quality control, testing,
software integration, as well as warranty and service support.
The venture also plans to gradually increase the localization of
production and develop national engineering expertise, according to
the report.
Meanwhile, South Korea has become one of Turkmenistan’s key
Asian industrial and technology partners, particularly in
shipbuilding, petrochemicals and industrial engineering. A central
pillar of cooperation is the Balkan Shipbuilding and Repair Plant
in Turkmenbashi, where Korean companies have participated in
technology transfer, engineering support and workforce training.
The facility was developed with involvement of South Korean
partners, including Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co.,
Ltd., which has provided technical expertise for the modernization
of Turkmenistan’s maritime production capabilities.
A notable result of this cooperation is the commissioning of the
cargo vessel Gadamly in May 2026, built at the Balkan Shipbuilding
and Repair Plant with Korean technological assistance and recently
put into operation by Turkmenistan. Alongside shipbuilding, South
Korean firms are also engaged in broader industrial cooperation in
Turkmenistan, including petrochemical projects, transport
infrastructure development and urban modernization initiatives,
reflecting Seoul’s role as a long-term partner in the country’s
industrial diversification strategy.
