The Aghdam District Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into a mine incident in the district, according to a joint statement from Azerbaijan’s Interior Ministry, Prosecutor General’s Office and Mine Action Agency (ANAMA).
Earlier, on September 5, a tractor hit a mine in an uncleared area in the liberated village of Chamanli Sarijali in Aghdam District.
The tractor driver, Elmdar Khan oglu Sariyev, a resident of Shotlanli village in Aghjabadi District, born in 1972, sustained injuries in the incident.
ANAMA, the Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor General’s Office once again urged citizens to comply with safety rules, follow mine hazard warning signs, avoid touching suspicious objects and refrain from entering unfamiliar areas, the statement said.
