The capital of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan joint investment fund will be doubled to $200 million, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said during a joint press statement with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov.
“Today we agreed to double the capital of the joint Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan investment fund to $200 million. I am confident this is not the limit, because the presentation we received on the fund's activities demonstrates that it is being filled with concrete substance,” Caliber.Az quotes the president as saying.
President Aliyev highlighted the deepening ties between the two countries, noting that Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan have elevated their relations to the highest level.
“Today, together with you, we have raised our interstate relations to the highest level, once again demonstrating our joint desire to strengthen our cooperation,” President Aliyev said.
He emphasized that allied relations bring additional responsibilities and reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to cooperation with Kyrgyzstan across various areas.
"Allied relations carry a very big responsibility, and we are ready for this responsibility. We will continue to support each other in all endeavors: on international platforms, in the trade and economic sphere, and in strengthening security," the head of state noted.
President Ilham Aliyev also invited his Kyrgyz counterpart to pay a state visit to Azerbaijan.
"For my part, I would like to invite you to visit Azerbaijan again with a state visit at a time convenient for you," Aliyev said.
