BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. Uzbek President
Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Kazakh Prime Minister Oljas Bektenov to
discuss further strengthening bilateral relations.
This was reflected in the statement by the press service of the
Uzbek president, on the sidelines of the fifth Tashkent
International Investment Forum to discuss strengthening bilateral
ties and advancing agreements reached at the highest level.
At the beginning of the meeting, Bektenov conveyed greetings and
best wishes from Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The talks focused on deepening Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan relations
of strategic partnership and alliance. Both sides noted the strong
momentum in contacts at all levels and the continued growth in
bilateral trade, as well as ongoing implementation of joint
cooperation projects in key economic sectors under a recently
adopted roadmap.
The two officials also emphasized the importance of thorough
preparations for the upcoming Intergovernmental Commission meeting
in July and the first Council of Regional Governors, which is
scheduled to take place in Aktau.
