ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 25. Turkmenistan
is set to launch a new production facility for wool yarn at the
textile complex in Bayramaly district of Mary region, Trend reports via the press
service of the Turkmen Government.

The directive was issued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov
during a Cabinet meeting, following a report by Deputy Chairman of
the Cabinet Nokerguly Atagulyev on the modernization of the textile
industry.

According to the report, the new production will focus on
high-quality wool yarn produced from local raw materials, which is
in demand on foreign markets. The project is intended to meet
domestic demand and enhance export potential.

The initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize
Turkmenistan’s textile sector and expand value-added
production.

The Bayramaly Textile Complex is a key enterprise in the
country’s textile industry and began operations in 2002. Located in
Mary Province, it comprises four main production units—spinning,
weaving, dyeing, and sewing—equipped with modern machinery.

The complex processes locally sourced cotton raw materials,
producing yarn, fabrics, and finished goods, including clothing and
home textiles. Its production capacity reaches approximately 6–7
tons of fabric per day, with products supplied to both the domestic
market and for export, including to Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan,
and other countries.

The enterprise employs over 750 people, making it one of the
major industrial employers in the region.
