China has praised Azerbaijan’s contribution to regional connectivity, stability and international cooperation, with Beijing expressing readiness to further deepen bilateral ties with Baku.
Speaking at an event marking the 99th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Liberation Army of China, Chinese Military Attaché to Azerbaijan Colonel Sun Zhong said Azerbaijan’s position at the crossroads of Europe and Asia has enabled it to play an important role in regional development, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“Being an important country located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Azerbaijan has made a significant contribution to the development of the region and the strengthening of stability,” Sun Zhong said.
He added that China hopes to continue joint efforts with Azerbaijan to expand cooperation and contribute to peace and prosperity both regionally and internationally.
The Chinese official highlighted that relations between the two countries are developing dynamically and are based on mutual respect and shared interests.
Sun Zhong also pointed to military cooperation as an important element of bilateral relations, noting that the armed forces of China and Azerbaijan have strengthened ties through high-level exchanges, professional dialogue, personnel training and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
According to the military attaché, these exchanges have helped enhance mutual understanding and laid a strong foundation for future cooperation between the two countries.
