Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's wife, Anna Hakobyan, has reported receiving threats following her public remarks on domestic violence, prompting the Prosecutor General's Office to launch proceedings.
Hakobyan said that after publicly discussing cases of domestic violence, she began receiving threats on social media and felt that she was in danger, Caliber.Az reports, citing Sputnik Armenia.
She expressed hope that state agencies would be able to ensure her protection.
Hakobyan also urged women to speak openly about psychological, physical, and sexual violence.
According to her, the issue affects all women regardless of their political views, education, or social status.
The Prosecutor General's Office said proceedings had been initiated but provided no further details.
