Russia has reiterated its position as a dependable global energy supplier amid heightened geopolitical tensions, particularly in the Middle East.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow continues to honour its energy commitments to international partners and stands ready to increase supplies if required, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Peskov emphasised that Russia remains “a reliable supplier of energy resources to all with whom it cooperates in this sphere.”
He acknowledged that current global conditions have led to increased revenues from energy exports but downplayed their significance, noting that the additional income does not fundamentally alter the structure of Russia’s state budget.
Speaking in an interview with India Today, Peskov also commented on the strikes targeting Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, describing the situation as “potentially very dangerous.” However, he said the facility was not damaged and confirmed that most Russian personnel had been evacuated from the site.
Peskov expressed hope that further escalation would be avoided, underscoring the risks such incidents pose to regional stability.
