The United Kingdom has unveiled its largest-ever drone support package for Ukraine, pledging to deliver at least 120,000 drones in 2026 as part of continued military assistance against Russia’s invasion.
The announcement coincides with a visit by the UK Defence Secretary to Berlin, where he is co-chairing the 34th meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group. The meeting brings together defence leaders including German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius, Ukrainian Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Caliber.Az reports per the UK government press service.
According to the UK government, the package will include a wide range of systems such as long-range strike drones, intelligence and reconnaissance platforms, logistics drones, and maritime capabilities. Officials said these technologies have already been tested in combat on Ukraine’s frontlines, with deliveries beginning earlier this month.
Drones have become a critical component of the conflict, supporting Ukrainian counteroffensives and defensive operations against intensified Russian attacks. Ukrainian authorities report that Russia launched approximately 6,500 one-way attack drones in March 2026, marking a significant increase compared to February.
The initiative is also expected to boost the UK’s domestic defence sector. Much of the funding will go to British companies such as Tekever, Windracers, and Malloy Aeronautics, supporting job creation and innovation.
The drone package forms part of the UK’s broader £3 billion military aid commitment to Ukraine this year. In addition, officials said the UK will supply hundreds of thousands of artillery shells and thousands of air defence missiles in 2026, reinforcing Kyiv’s ability to defend its territory and infrastructure.
