Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with US Vice President JD Vance on April 11 during the Islamabad Talks, according to an official post by the Government of Pakistan on X.
The government said in its statement that the two leaders met on the sidelines of the event in Islamabad, without providing further details on the content of their discussions.
Commending the commitment of both delegations to engage constructively, the Prime Minister expressed the hope that these talks would serve as a stepping stone toward durable peace in the region.
The Prime Minister also reiterated that Pakistan looks forward to continuing its facilitation of both sides in making progress towards sustainable peace in the region.
JD Vance was accompanied by Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, while the Pakistani delegation included Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi.
