Hamas has welcomed the ceasefire between Iran and the United States, as well as the start of negotiations in Pakistan aimed at reaching a complete and comprehensive end to the conflict.

In a statement, the group said the goal of Israelwas to alter the political and geographic balance of the region to ensure its survival and secure dominance, according to the publication Al-Arabi Al-Jadid.

Hamas said that the steadfastness of the Islamic Republic, its people, and its leadership had prevented those objectives from being achieved, and claimed that this represented a continuation of what it called the decline of the “Zionist project.”

The movement also expressed hope that Pakistan and other mediating countries would succeed in promoting positive outcomes that would enhance stability and unity among Arab and Islamic nations, and prevent what it described as attempts to sow division in the region.

Hamas further accused Israel of failing to honour agreements, claiming that its current actions in Gaza were undermining efforts toward lasting peace.
