The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) say they have destroyed more than 200 rocket launchers and killed hundreds of Hezbollah artillery personnel since the start of their ongoing campaign against the group in Lebanon.
In a statement, the IDF said that its operations aimed at “neutralising and disrupting” the firepower of Hezbollah had resulted in the destruction of over 200 rocket launchers, which it said included around 1,300 barrels, Caliber.Az reports.
The military also said that Ali Kamel Avra Elhassan, identified as the head of artillery in Hezbollah’s “Nasser” unit, was killed earlier this week.
According to the statement, more than 250 Hezbollah artillery personnel have been killed since the beginning of the campaign, including 15 commanders responsible for artillery units across different sectors.
The IDF added that it would continue its operations against Hezbollah, saying it would act to prevent threats to Israeli civilians, particularly in northern Israel.
