At least 17 civilians have been killed in Israeli air force attacks on the towns of Zrarieh and Abbassiyeh in southern Lebanon, according to an emergency headquarters.


In Zrarieh, at least 10 members of a single family were killed, with women and children among the casualties and injured, Lebanon’s National News Agency reports.


Another seven people died in Abbassiyeh. 


Earlier, on April 8, heavy bombardments across Beirut and other Lebanese cities resulted in 254 deaths and 1,165 injuries.
