BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 19. Bulgaria is ready
to intensify cooperation with Kazakhstan to develop the
Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), Bulgarian
Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Peev said during a
meeting with Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Bulgaria Viktor
Temirbayev.

According to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the
meeting focused on the current state and prospects of transport and
logistics cooperation between the two countries.

The sides noted that the fifth meeting of the
Kazakhstan-Bulgaria Intergovernmental Commission on Economic
Cooperation, held in Sofia on May 20, 2025, and the official visit
of Rumen Radev to Kazakhstan on June 9, 2025, when he was President
of Bulgaria, had given additional impetus to the development of
bilateral relations.

Particular attention was paid to the development of the TITR,
given its growing role in facilitating freight transportation
between Europe, the South Caucasus, Central Asia and China.

The parties also discussed prospects for establishing direct air
links between Kazakhstan and Bulgaria and expanding cooperation in
international road transport.

Peev noted that Bulgaria had the potential to strengthen its
position as a transport and logistics hub for transit shipments
between Asia and Europe. He expressed Bulgaria's readiness to
intensify cooperation with Kazakhstan on TITR development.

According to the minister, expanding cooperation in this area
would contribute to growth in bilateral trade.
