Some 71% of Russians say they trust President Vladimir Putin, according to a poll conducted by the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM).
The survey was conducted from September 11 to 13 among 1,500 Russian respondents.
“Seventy-one per cent of Russians said they trust Vladimir Putin. A majority of the population (73%) also believes that he is doing a good job as head of state,” the polling organisation said.
Meanwhile, 50% of respondents gave a positive assessment of the government’s performance. Some 53% said Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin was doing a good job.
The text also cites an initiative-based nationwide poll conducted by the Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VCIOM) from September 7 to 13 among 1,600 people aged 18 and over.
The VCIOM survey used a combined sampling method, with 50% of interviews conducted by telephone using the Sputnik technology and the remaining 50% through route-based sampling. The margin of error was up to 2.5%.
