A magnitude 6.3 earthquake rattled the Nikolski region of Alaska on September 17, the US Geological Survey (USGS) stated.


The earthquake struck 167 kilometres (103.7 miles) west of Nikolski, Alaska, the USGS said.


It occurred at a depth of 83 kilometres (51.1 miles).


There were no immediate reports of casualties or major damage.
