The Baku International Sea Trade Port handled more than 5.5 million tons of cargo in January-August 2026, marking an increase of nearly 3% compared with the same period last year.


The port handled more than 85,000 TEUs of containers during the first eight months of the year, up 22% from 69,855 TEUs recorded in January-August 2025, Caliber.Az reports via local media.


Container handling also increased significantly in August, reaching 12,900 TEUs, a 39% year-on-year rise.
