Mongolia expects direct air services with Azerbaijan to begin soon, opening connections with six Azerbaijani cities.

The proposed agreement would allow flights between Baku, Ganja, Nakhchivan, Lankaran, Gabala and Zagatala in Azerbaijan and three cities in Mongolia: Ulaanbaatar, Khovd and Choibalsan, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

The two sides have agreed to designate one or more airlines and allow them to cooperate through code-sharing arrangements.

The relevant committee of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis discussed an air services agreement with Mongolia on September 17.

The agreement would provide a legal framework for passenger and cargo services, as well as the transport of baggage and mail between the two countries.
